Bangor Public Library

The Bangor Public Library is the only public library serving the residents of the Bangor Area School District. In addition to a wonderful collection of books for all ages, the Library provides public Internet access, books on tape, videos (without a fee), reference materials, telephone books, fax service, tax forms, access to the Daily News and Homefront magazine, convenient hours, interlibrary loan capability, and participates in Access Pennsylvania.

  • EBSCO Host - a periodical database
  • Grove's Dictionaries - resources relating to music, art, astronomy, astrophysics, and life sciences.
  • Bigchalk - designed for children, it includes magazines, newspapers, books and reference collections, photographs, and maps.
  • SIRS Discoverer - an interactive reference tool for young readers including full text articles and graphics, and the World Almanac.
  • Poem Finder - includes over 70,000 full text poems and 750,000 poem citations and excerpts.
  • AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive - includes more than 500,000 current and historical photographs
  • Gale Group - biographic and critical essay information on modern novelists, poets, playwrights, journalists and scholars.
  • Searchasaurus - full text databases for elementary and middle school students.

Simply look at your library card and enter the number beginning with a P and no spaces. If you do not have a library card, go to the library and get one. They are FREE!!

Your library card gives you access to this wonderful collection of information. You can also use your library card to check out a book(s) at any library in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that participates in Access Pennsylvania. Participating local libraries include Easton, Nazareth, Bethlehem, Allentown, and Stroudsburg.
